Welcome, my name is Sharon Pace and I am running for the 14th District State Senate seat in the August 7th 2018 Democratic Primary. Having completed eight successful years in the Missouri House, I am well prepared to stand up for the interests of the people in the Missouri Senate. Only six women out of 34 serve in the Missouri Senate and one of those is a Republican. I can be a far more effective advocate for women in standing up to the Republican male dominated Senate who seek to dictate reproductive rights, funding for women’s health care, and denying women equal pay for equal work.
As a mother, I stand with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and with Just Moms STL fighting the dangerous toxic mix from the burning Bridgeton Landfill and its proximity to nuclear waste. Having worked for most of my life in the health care field, I am also a fierce advocate for Medicaid expansion and affordable health care. As a mother and grandmother, I will also fight the Governor and Republican dominated legislature from stealing our children’s futures with their drastic funding cuts to our public schools and universities.
I will also focus on developing career paths for students, raising the minimum wage, expanding Medicaid, job creation, rebuilding our infrastructure, transportation, social justice, equal opportunity, helping our seniors and veterans, housing, protecting the rights of workers, defending the middle-class and safe communities. I will also fight the micromanaging of our local governments by those in Jefferson City and trying to overturn the will of the voters. I will fight their attempts at voter suppression and stand up to the millionaires who buy politicians to line their own pockets at our expense.
As I said, the list of challenges is long, but I believe I am ready for the challenge. It is time we had a progressive agenda and real leadership to MOVE MISSOURI FORWARD! That’s why I am running, and why I would be proud to have you be a part of our campaign… to join me on the journey… every step of the way. Thank you!
